The Cedar Falls City Council on Jan. 6 unanimously adopted the Hidden Pines Urban Renewal Plan, a move city staff said is needed to enable a 43‑lot residential subdivision and permit the city to use incremental tax receipts to repay public infrastructure costs.
"This urban renewal plan has been developed to help promote new residential development, within a proposed new residential subdivision, named Hidden Pines," City staff member Shane Graham told the council during a public hearing. He said the plat that will create the 43 lots should come to council soon and that construction is expected to begin in early 2025.
