Cumberland County staff presented results of a request for qualifications for engineering services related to sanitary sewer projects on Jan. 9 and recommended Myers Engineering, PLLC, as the best‑qualified firm. The board authorized staff to begin contract negotiations and to prepare a final contract for approval at the Jan. 21 meeting.
The county received two statements of qualifications. Staff said both firms demonstrated capability, but recommended Myers based on its experience with similar municipal sewer design, preliminary engineering reports and construction administration. Commissioners asked to see the RFQ scoring and the evaluation criteria used by the selection panel; staff agreed to include that documentation in the packet for the Jan. 21 agenda item. The board authorized staff to negotiate terms and return with a final contract — staff suggested placing the item on the Jan. 21 consent agenda if supporting materials are included; commissioners said they would pull the item if the scoring documentation were not provided.
