At the Oct. 27 meeting the Leesburg Town Council moved into a closed session pursuant to Code of Virginia §2.2‑3711(a)(1) to discuss personnel matters.

The mayor moved the motion to convene the closed meeting citing the statutory authority; a second was recorded and the council responded in the affirmative. Following the closed session, the council reconvened in public and voted to certify, by roll call, that only matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements and identified in the motion were discussed. Councilmembers recorded “Aye” votes in roll‑call sequence that included Councilmember Steinberg, Councilmember Cummings, Councilmember Wilk, Vice Mayor Simono Johnson, Councilmember Krakowski and Councilmember Berg.

The council then made a motion to adjourn.
