The Battle Ground School District board approved its consent agenda on Feb. 24, including several routine business items, two donations and appointments to the instructional materials committee.
The board accepted a PTO donation to Yackel Primary School raised through two years of pie sales; the funds will buy a rock-climbing wall for the playground and three picnic tables, Principal Kelly Gorby told the board. The board also accepted a $10,000 donation from community member Jeff Spencer to Battle Ground High School: $1,000 to the high school food pantry, $9,000 to the ASB athletics account and $1,000 to BJHS to support athletes and programs.
All consent items — minutes, personnel reports, student travel, financial reports, the donations and the CTE four-year plan — were approved as presented in a 5–0 vote. The board also confirmed new instructional materials committee members after a review process; the committee was expanded and nine members were named from 32 applicants.
