Dr. Cristioni, superintendent, told the board the district has an assigned project number and is awaiting state approval for three capital projects: replacement/renovation of baseball and softball fields, replacement of exterior doors, and a new phone system.
She said the district is "in anticipation" of state approval and that engineers and architects at the state review those submissions. To obtain favorable pricing while the state review continues, the district approved specific contracts with Land Tech so that the vendor can "maneuver and figure out what to use for the different pieces" required for the fields. Dr. Cristioni said part of the project's approval is already completed and that the district is "halfway there" in the state's process.
No final state approval date was announced during the meeting, and Dr. Cristioni said the district is continuing to wait for the state's final signoff. The board did not debate the scope of the projects at length during the meeting; the superintendent framed the approvals as procurement steps to secure pricing ahead of expected state approval.
