At its first meeting of the year the Winter Springs Pension Board reappointed its current chair and vice chair to serve another year.
The board formally voted to continue the existing leadership; the motion to appoint Michael Santoro as chair for 2025 carried with members voting in favor during the roll call.
Why it matters: continuity in leadership preserves the board's current governance approach as it implements investment and administrative tasks for the year.
After the appointments the board moved to public input. Mayor Kevin McCann addressed the board and thanked members and staff for their work on the pension plan and on city finances. "I just wanna say thanks," McCann said, noting improvements in plan metrics and fiscal ratings and that the work helps care for retirees and employees.
The board adjourned after completing the agenda.
