The board approved staff moving forward with an invitation to speak at the Salt Lake Off Road & Outdoor Expo (Feb. 27), subject to agreement about the messenger. Staff described the invitation as a speaking slot at an event that draws motorized-off-road audiences and described it as an opportunity to "welcome" that segment and invite them back to Moab.
Separately, staff reported one available registration to attend ITB Berlin, the international travel trade show scheduled for early March, and asked if a travel‑council board member would use the spot. Staff said the registration was budgeted but travel had been delayed pending finalization of the board’s budget; because funding timing had shifted, the office could either fund a staff travel or offer the space to a TCAB member who could report back to the board. Several members expressed interest; staff asked anyone who could attend to confirm availability so travel arrangements could be completed.
Board members also asked for a brief written report after any trade-show participation so the full board and the commission can see contacts made, opportunities identified and recommended follow-up actions. A staff member committed to provide a follow-up report template for trade-show debriefs.
The board did not formally authorize a multi-member delegation to ITB during the meeting; staff said they would identify a representative and notify the board.
