The Budget and Finance Committee on Feb. 12 voted to forward a resolution to the full Board of Supervisors recommending approval of a ninth amendment to the Municipal Transportation Agency's towing contract that would add $15,300,000 in spending authority to cover the balance of the contract term through March 31, 2026.
The amendment would increase the contract ceiling for towing, storage and disposal services with Texco LLC (previously Auto Return). SFMTA staff said the additional authority is needed to finish the final year of the existing contract while the agency prepares a competitive reprocurement.
