Lenoir City Council on Dec. 9 approved a series of routine administrative items, including personnel confirmations, authorization to advertise for a replacement vehicle, and a motion to pay the city’s bills.
Personnel: Council approved the recommendation to move Andrew White to full‑time status after a six‑month probationary period and completion of required training. Chief White (police chief) said the officer met all requirements and recommended full-time status; council confirmed the recommendation by recorded vote.
Procurement: Council authorized staff to put out a bid for a replacement stormwater vehicle (pickup) for the public works/fleet program; staff said the purchase will go out to bid, bids will be evaluated by the purchasing committee and returned to council for award.
Bills: Council approved the motion that all properly approved bills be paid and that funds are available.
