Parks & Recreation staff described the scholarship program as financial assistance for youth registration fees to remove barriers to participation. Denise Smith, speaking for the foundation, presented the gift in memory of Michelle Gallagher, a local youth coach who died in 2014, and invited the public to view the foundation’s website (michellegallagher.org) for additional information and past activities.
Council members joined the foundation and staff for a photo opportunity on the dais following the donation presentation.
