Council approves consent agenda including Juneteenth recognition, special events and capital purchases

The Ferndale City Council adopted the consent agenda, which included routine approvals and several items of local interest.

Items approved on the consent agenda (7a–7p) included:

• 7a — Approval of the 05/27/2025 meeting minutes.

• 7b/7c — Resolution to display the Juneteenth flag outside Ferndale City Hall beginning June 16 and recognition of June 19, 2025 as Juneteenth National Freedom Day.

• 7d — Approval of a mutual aid agreement with the Southeastern Oakland County Public Works Association member communities.

• 7e/7f — Special event permits: Harvest Walk on Livernois (09/27/2025) and Heroes and Dreams (monthly, June–October 2025).

• 7g — Approval to install a basketball court at Wilson Park through the local paving program ($78,143.01).

• 7h — Renewal of Michigan Municipal League dues ($10,449).

• 7i — Appointment of representatives/alternate to the SACRA Board of Trustees and 7j — listed appointments and reappointments to city boards and commissions.

• 7k — Resolution to schedule a public hearing to consider vacating an alley adjacent to Lots 28–37 for the 07/14/2025 council meeting.

• 7l — Purchase of a 2025 Ford E-Transit cargo van from Gorno Ford ($56,100).

• 7m — Software renewal with GovOS for SeamlessDocs ($9,243.15).

• 7n — Payment to Nova Consultants for solar photovoltaic system maintenance ($9,945).

• 7o — Approval of bills and payrolls as submitted and subject to Finance Committee review.

• 7p — Approval of 2025 summer special assessments.

A motion to adopt the consent agenda passed on a roll call vote with council concurrence.
