Commissioner Vincent moved, and Commissioner Perry seconded; the motion carried by voice vote.
Zoning and planning
- The commission voted to send Ordinance 630 (a zoning and map amendment in the Tremonton area from unzoned to RR-1) back to the planning commission to resolve an applicant request that one acre be excluded for a possible plumbing shop. Community Development Director Scott Lyons said planning had recommended approval for the full parcel but the applicant asked that one acre remain unzoned to allow a commercial/shop use; commissioners preferred the planning commission make the final recommendation. The motion to remand the ordinance passed by voice vote.
Employee recognition and public comment
- Commissioners recognized Amy Adams of the Box Elder County fairgrounds as employee of the month; commissioners said they plan to present the award upon her return from vacation.
- In public comment Deanna Hardy of the Box Elder Committee of Liberty urged the commission to restore the former state flag to public display and criticized the state’s new flag adoption and cost; Hardy also reiterated opposition to APAs during the public-comment portion of the meeting.
Procedure and next steps
