Council rezones four parcels in western Sandy for Altus Development Group project
Summary
The council voted 6–0 to approve an ordinance rezoning three parcels owned by the applicant and two small adjacent city-owned parcels (a 0.4-acre canal parcel and a 0.15-acre strip to the center line of Harvard Park Drive) as part of an Altus Development Group application.
The Sandy City Council adopted Ordinance 25-15 on July 15, rezoning parcels associated with an application from Altus Development Group.
City long-range planning staff presented the application and said the Planning Commission recommended including two adjacent city-owned parcels in the rezoning: a roughly 0.4-acre former canal parcel to the west and a roughly 0.15-acre portion of a city parcel to the east (rezoned only to the center line of Harvard Park Drive). The council’s ordinance adopts the rezoning for the three applicant parcels and the specified portions of the two city parcels.
No public comment was received at the council meeting on the rezone. The ordinance passed on a 6–0 roll-call vote; roll-call responses recorded yes votes by Council members Stroud, Mika, D'Souza, Robinson, Hausman and Sharkey. Staff will implement the rezoning changes in the city’s zoning map and the land-development code.
