The Roaring Fork School District No. Re-1 board of directors voted unanimously to adopt the district’s 2025–26 budget during a virtual meeting, approving the plan "as presented."
Board members devoted brief remarks to thanking staff for a detailed budget packet and explanatory letter from district leadership before calling for and passing the motion. The vote recorded aye for each director present: Director After, Director DeFriedis, Director Ramirez and Director Tyler.
The board’s conversation was largely complimentary. Several directors said the narrative included with the budget made the document easier for the public to understand and helped explain the district’s financial position. Board members repeatedly thanked district staff for their work and for producing a roughly 20-page narrative that, they said, clarifies how school finance in Colorado affects the district.
District staff told the board the numbers in the version presented had not changed from the last version the board reviewed. The meeting procedure for the budget item included two-minute comments from each board member followed by five minutes of open discussion before the motion to adopt.
No changes or amendments to the budget were proposed during the meeting. The formal motion recorded in the transcript was: "I move we approve the 2526 budget as presented." That motion was seconded and carried by roll call.
With no further business, the board adjourned the meeting.
