At its June 5 meeting the Brownsburg Redevelopment Commission approved Resolution 2025-02 RDC, a determination to capture incremental assessed valuation for all allocation areas (except Wynne/Wynne Farms) and to pass through no dollars to other taxing units for the 2026 budget year.
Mister Pierce, a staff member, explained the annual process and said the recommendation, based on feedback from the town’s financial advisor and staff analysis, was that the commission had "no excess assessed value in the allocation in any allocation area that may be released to the other taxing units," citing the town’s need to cover existing debt service and to fund planned future projects. The resolution applies to all allocation areas except Wynne Farms, which the commission addressed separately.
A motion to approve was made and seconded; the commission adopted the resolution by voice vote with no recorded opposition. The motion carried and the commission moved on to consider a separate resolution for Wynne Farms. Staff requested signatures on the resolution after the meeting.
The commission did not specify dollar amounts to be released; the resolution affirms continued capture of incremental assessed value for budgeting and debt-service needs.
