The draft policy, presented by Elizabeth Martinez, restarts a review cycle that the district has not completed since 2016. Martinez said the Nevada Department of Agriculture issued a revised state wellness policy in December and the district has used that guidance to shape local updates. "Before we were not able to allow fundraising for culinary arts programs... Now we are able to do curriculum based fundraising," Martinez said.
