Kim Chapelle, a resident of West Fallow Field Township, asked the board for an update on district plans for solar panels and whether the district could apply for a state grant whose application is due Jan. 31.
Chapelle said she had sent letters to Dr. Lehi (named in her comment) and to Board Member Hurley and that she had recently heard back from Hurley indicating he would discuss grant possibilities with the district administrator. The resident asked the board to update her on the current status and whether application for state grant money was a possibility.
A district official offered to speak with Chapelle after the meeting to discuss the matter and to follow up. No board vote or formal staff report on a solar grant application occurred during the meeting.
The board did not provide details on whether a formal application will be submitted by the Jan. 31 deadline; staff said they would follow up with the resident and share information with the board as available.
