Contract amendment — Devri Castellanos Architects (DCA) The board approved Amendment No. 1 to the DCA architectural services agreement to add exterior painting bid documents and oversight for the YOLO Educational Center at a cost of $37,105, bringing the DCA contract total to $137,075. The amendment moves Riverbank Elementary painting work to summer 2026 and adds YOLO to the 2025 scope. The motion to approve passed.
Out‑of‑state professional development — AVID Institute (Chicago) Washington Middle College staff received approval to attend the AVID Summer Institute July 22–25 in Chicago. The board approved an amendment to add one additional Washington Unified staff member (bringing the total district‑funded attendee to one Washington Unified staffer supporting the Middle College participants); the district indicated the additional registration will be funded from LCAP funds. CSBA / ACSA coast‑to‑coast federal advocacy trip (Washington, D.C.) The board amended an authorization to allow three trustees — rather than two — to attend the CSBA and ACSA coast‑to‑coast federal advocacy trip in Washington, D.C., April 28–30, 2025. The board approved the amended authorization and discussed the importance of board advocacy and coordination of meetings with congressional staff. The motion to amend and approve passed.
