Henrico Board ratifies end of local emergency declared for Winter Storm Blair

Henrico County supervisors voted Feb. 11 to rescind the local emergency declaration that had been in effect following Winter Storm Blair.
County staff said the local emergency, originally declared by the county manager on Jan. 7 to coordinate county response to the storm, will be lifted. The county manager and board members thanked public-safety personnel, Department of Public Utilities staff and other employees for response efforts during the storm.
Supervisor Rountree moved the resolution to end the local emergency; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Board members praised staff for heroic efforts preparing and responding to conditions caused by the storm and noted the declaration had allowed flexibility in operations and resource deployment.
No further actions tied to the declaration (such as after-action timelines or special appropriations) were announced during the Feb. 11 meeting.
