Dublin council schedules Feb. 18 vote on rezoning request at 3838 Summit View Road after residents raise traffic, septic concerns

Dublin City Council members on Feb. 3 heard more than an hour of public comment and council questions after the introduction of an ordinance to rezone approximately 0.87 acres at 3838 Summit View Road from R‑1 (restricted suburban residential) to SO (suburban office and institutional).

The rezoning request, introduced at first reading on Feb. 3, would make the lot consistent with an adjacent parcel that was rezoned in 2017 and aligns with the city’s Envision Dublin future land‑use designation for the area, which the staff memo describes as “mixed use neighborhood.” Planning staff said the SO district generally allows office and similar uses without a site‑plan review when projects meet zoning standards.

The applicant, Akhil Patel, identified himself as the principal of the entity that owns the two parcels and told council the lots were purchased together.
