Council approves engineering task orders and a budget amendment for FY2025

The Aransas Pass City Council approved several administrative items Monday: a task order with HDR Engineering, a task order with SDR Engineering and an ordinance amending the fiscal-year 2025 budget.
Staff said the task order with HDR Engineering (Task Order No. 1) covers development review and infrastructure engineering services for October 18, 2024, through Sept. 30, 2025, in an amount not to exceed $50,000. Staff said this work had been budgeted previously and the task order implements previously approved contract authority.
The council also approved Task Order No. 2 with SDR Engineering for inspection services related to subdivision improvements (discussed as Aransas Oaks/Aransas Oaks subdivision improvements) in an amount not to exceed $22,000. Staff clarified the scope should cover all subdivision improvements, not only a single subdivision, to ensure inspection coverage.
On budget matters staff presented Ordinance 2024-4478 to amend the FY2025 budget. Staff said the amendment would realign salaries to address pay disparities identified after the pay study and would reappropriate $30,000 originally budgeted for planning training to help fund part of the increases. Staff cited net increases to the general fund and water/sewer fund in the amendment; the council approved the ordinance on a voice vote.
All three items were approved by voice vote; staff said the HDR task order work had already been budgeted and that the SDR task order would apply to future subdivision inspections as needed.
