The Porterville City Council voted unanimously to establish a standing cannabis committee composed of two council members and staffed at the discretion of the city manager.
City staff explained the item as a follow-up to the council’s November 19 decision to abolish the prior ad hoc cannabis committee, which had completed its original charge. The standing committee is intended to work with staff on an as-needed basis to review local cannabis business regulations and related matters.
Council moved and seconded approval of the draft resolution; the motion passed unanimously, recorded as a 4-0 vote.
Staff will return the adopted resolution and staffing direction for implementation and will coordinate committee membership as positions become available.
