The district presented a recommended list of about 400 titles assembled by campus librarians and vetted by the district library coordinator and central office. "This evening we're gonna be bringing to you our library book recommendations from our librarians," said Miss George's Penny, the district staff member who led the presentation. She said librarians first apply professional reviews and written checks against five collection standards set out under prior law and TEA guidance, then the district coordinator and central staff review each title before the board sees it.
