The Township of Washington Zoning Board voted to approve Resolution ZB 2,516, extending prior approval (Resolution ZB 24‑19) for a proposed single‑family home at 662 Jefferson Avenue, Block 3102, Lot 9, but the approval was conditioned on the applicant providing revised plans and an as‑built survey to the board engineer.
The extension vote came after board members discussed whether the buyer of the property had supplied proof of ownership and whether revised plans showing a flipped driveway and other changes had been provided. Board engineer John Nikkiewicz advised the board that revised plans were a condition of approval and had not yet been submitted.
Why it matters: the extension preserves the prior approval while keeping in place conditions from the original resolution; the board sought to avoid issuing permits before required documentation is received.
During deliberations, members expressed concern that approving an extension without required documentation could allow construction to proceed on plans that differ from the board's prior approval. Board members asked staff to notify the building department and to CC the buyer and applicant; staff agreed to call the applicant and to put the deadline in writing.
Motion and vote: Chairman Getz made the motion to approve Resolution ZB 2,516 under the condition that revised plans be submitted to the board engineer and that no permits be issued until those materials are received. The motion was seconded. Roll call recorded five yes votes and one no vote; the resolution passed.
Next steps: Staff was instructed to notify the building department, call the applicant to reiterate outstanding conditions, and to make a written record that permits should not be issued until conditions are satisfied. The item will return to the board if the required documents are not supplied by the stated timeframe.
