The board approved accepting the grant and using portions of it for upgrades (recording system replacement, MFA improvements, monitor and chair replacements) and for dispatcher retention bonuses. The sheriff said the grant covers technology and retention needs and itemized uses including $27,822 for MFA improvements and $41,383 to replace the recording system.
- Christmas holiday schedule: The board approved adjustments to the county holiday calendar, making Dec. 24 (the previously half day) a full day off for 2026 and adding Dec. 26 as a full day. Staff noted the change carries holiday-pay cost implications and operational coverage needs for water/wastewater and transit.
- Industrial Development Authority appointments: The board reappointed Jerry Rose and Bridget Tyler to four-year terms on the Industrial Development Authority.
