Green Bay honors Metro Fire Department and K9 'Pyro' and handler

The Green Bay Common Council used part of its Oct. 21 meeting to present awards to first responders and to recognize neighborhood organizing efforts.
The council presented a resolution recognizing the Green Bay Metro Fire Department as a first-responder award recipient for its large-event response during the 2025 NFL Draft. The mayor and council praised the department's planning and interagency coordination.
Representative Ahmad Rivera Wagner also recognized Green Bay Police Department K9 Pyro and handler Oliver Salzman; Salzman accepted the recognition on behalf of the K9 unit. "I would like to accept it on behalf of K9 Pyro, but also on behalf of the entire Green Bay Police Department K9 unit," Salzman said.
The council additionally recognized the newly formed Badger Tracks Neighborhood Association, recorded as Green Bay's fiftieth neighborhood association.
