Waivers: Trustees approved two classified‑applicant waiver requests in public hearings. The board heard administrative presentations and voted in open session to grant waivers for Sandra McKnight and Shantra Singleton; motions passed as recorded in the meeting minutes.
Termination and hearings: The board conducted a termination hearing for a classified employee, Amy Hyde. The formal hearing process proceeded with a hearing officer; the board later voted in open session to accept the superintendent’s recommendation to terminate Hyde’s employment contract. The motion to terminate was seconded and carried on the record.
Special education settlement: The board entered executive session to consider a special‑education settlement and, after the closed discussion, voted to approve a settlement recorded under the State Department case number H‑2509 (HDash2509 in the packet). Trustees approved the SPED settlement as presented.
Level‑3 grievance: A pending level‑3 grievance that had been placed on the agenda was withdrawn in writing by the grievant’s attorney prior to the meeting; the district attorney confirmed receipt of that withdrawal and no hearing was held.
Personnel reports and consent agenda: The board approved certified and classified personnel reports and adopted the consent agenda as presented.
