Tehachapi prepares for Mountain Festival, farmers markets and community events

Claire Scott of the Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce thanked the council for the city's partnership in producing the 62nd Mountain Festival, noting local vendors, bands and expected hotel bookings. Scott said the festival relies on collaboration with local partners including the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District and downtown businesses. "I just wanted to come up and take 2 minutes to say thank you so much for this amazing partnership with the city and the chamber to make Mountain Festival happen," she told the council.
Staff and volunteers also thanked the city for support of Parks and Recreation Month and of Mount Gallop, the community 5K and related events. One speaker said approximately 500 people attended an Alzheimer's reunion event supported by city sponsorship the previous day.
Jessica Garner, the city's market manager, described the farmers market as "a huge team effort," noting collaboration across police, public works, community engagement and front-office staff. Staff said only two farmers-market dates remain for the season and emphasized the market's role in promoting downtown businesses and community connections.
City Manager remarks echoed the praise for partnerships across departments and outside organizations, and staff said they will present an overview of recent capital and maintenance projects to the council in the coming months.
