Finance Director Hamed (Hamid/Hamed in transcript) Jones accepted the GFOA certificate on behalf of the city. Jones said the award shows the city has embraced "transparency and full disclosure, and we go beyond the minimum requirements of the generally accepted accounting principles." Staff noted this was the seventh consecutive year the city had received the GFOA award and that Senator Shannon Grove sent a congratulatory letter.
Both recognitions were ceremonial; no formal council actions were required.
