District posts RFP for national superintendent search; proposals due July 3

The Grain Valley R-V School District has issued a request for proposals to hire a search firm for a national superintendent search, district staff told the board.
Staff said the RFP lists the scope of services the district expects from a search firm (community engagement, candidate solicitation, fees and post-hire support). Proposals are due July 3. District staff and the full board plan to review submissions between July 7 and July 25, hold interviews with shortlisted firms and aim to select a firm by August.
District leaders described the search as a national recruitment and said the selected firm would assist in posting the job (targeted for late September or early October) and in developing community engagement strategies, surveys and post-hire onboarding services. The board noted the process is designed to help the district reach a broad candidate pool and to have placement-ready materials for a fall posting.
No vote was required beyond the board's authorization of the RFP process; staff indicated they had already posted the RFP on the district website and received notices from multiple firms planning to submit.
