Public Works: The board ratified the appointment of Ethan Lazar as Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) laborer pending a successful physical; conditions include obtaining a 2B hoisting license and CDL Class B within one year. The board also confirmed summer DPW hires Aden Ludwig and Brendan Ludwig as seasonal workers pending successful physicals.
Building and inspections: Christopher Kenny was ratified as alternate building commissioner effective July 1; Steven Frasca was ratified as deputy plumbing and gas inspector, pending a successful physical.
Library and recreation: The board approved on‑call library assistants Newton Matthew and Hannah Rochelle, and ratified lead counselor and counselor appointments for recreation programs, including Molly Graham (director), Amelia Carr and Amanda Fallon (lead counselors) and a list of youth counselors. The board noted volunteer middle‑school counselors are not paid and are not required to be formally appointed.
Fire department: The board ratified the appointment of Catherine Dowling as an on‑call firefighter/intern pending physical and background checks. The fire chief described the candidate as a junior at Massachusetts Maritime Academy who will pursue EMT and firefighter training and assist with the town’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
