Carbon County shelter reports higher adoptions, seeks repairs and equipment installations

Carbon County Animal Shelter Advisory Commission members met June 3 at 6 p.m. at 44 Susquehanna Street. Director Tom reviewed April and May operational statistics, described pending facility repairs and equipment orders, and thanked donors for recent large food and supply contributions.
Tom reported that in April the shelter received $2,736 in donated food (a FreshPak pallet), supplies totaling $20,091, and that kennels numbered 16. April began with 22 dogs and ended with 16; adoptions were 7, owner surrenders 1, and 8 dogs were returned to owners. Police calls in April numbered 7, with 6 after-hours calls.
