The Imperial County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously in closed session on May 20 to appoint Cynthia Medina as Clerk of the Board effective May 20, 2025.
The board reported the appointment at the May 20 meeting and Human Resources Director Eleanor Barasa read pay and benefits information into the public record to comply with the Brown Act. Barasa said the position is range 3‑64 with a beginning annual salary range of $92,086 to $117,609 and listed benefits that include retirement, Medicare, health, dental and vision insurance, a health reimbursement account, life insurance and a $550 monthly car allowance. Barasa provided optional benefits and reported total benefits valued between $61,875 and $71,543, placing the total beginning salary and benefits range at $153,961 to $189,152.
During open session the newly appointed Cynthia Medina thanked the board for the appointment. The board did not change compensation for the clerk position beyond the advertised range, the board stated.
The appointment was announced in the board’s closed‑session report; the board said direction was given in other closed‑session matters but that no reportable action was taken on them.
