Bonner County closes Garfield Bay Park grant after installing benches and ADA pads

Bonner County staff asked the board to approve closeout for a grant (GRAMA RV 204191) awarded for Garfield Bay Park improvements. Matt Zoeller, Parks and Waterways Director, said the grant funded new picnic tables, benches and ADA concrete pads; crews hand-poured concrete late in the season and completed the work.
Zoeller said the grant originally included a fence intended to prevent children from running across a nearby road, but that after review and because snow removal had repeatedly damaged a fence, the state agreed to omit the fence from the grant scope. The county completed the benches, picnic tables and ADA pads and sought official closeout. A motion to approve the closeout was made, seconded and approved by roll call.
