The Bonner County Board of Commissioners approved payment of fiscal-year-2025 claims in batch number 32 totaling $1,142,192.07.
Clerk Rosedale presented the claims and told commissioners: “Before you I have claims batch number 32 totaling $1,142,192.07.” The clerk highlighted several large items: an external auditor invoice of about $68,000, road and bridge culvert work at about $65,000, assessor contracted labor for about $23,000, and heavy expenditures in solid waste totaling roughly $800,000 that included vehicle purchases and long-haul hauling costs.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about the solid-waste line items and vehicle purchases. Staff confirmed that two significant line items — described by staff as containerized truck purchases and vehicle purchases — were included in the solid-waste totals. After discussion a motion was made, seconded and approved by roll-call vote to pay the claims.
Why it matters: The claims approval moves several large county expenditures into payment, notably capital and contracted service spending in solid waste and one-time professional services costs.
Next steps: County staff will process payment; commissioners encouraged residents to vote in the election that day.
