During discussion, staff explained the purchase would secure the part, rebuild the existing pump and allow additional investigation before installing a new unit. "If everybody's okay with the $18,009.66 to get that part ordered, I would just say that I'd like to move forward with that and then get the new pump or the new motor ordered and have them rebuild the pump that they have," a staff presenter said.
A council member moved the expenditure and another seconded; a voice vote was recorded as unanimous. Council members also agreed staff would continue to investigate the site for any additional work required before installing the new equipment. The purchase was authorized and staff will proceed to order the motor and schedule the rebuild.
