The speaker said the primary delay in delivery is a shortage of chassis equipped with the Allison "45 hundreds" transmissions the county requested. Henderson Trucks reportedly has two chassis on order; once those are available the county and vendor will hold a pre-build meeting. Staff estimated delivery likely in mid- to late 2025 rather than in 2024.
County commissioners discussed whether to update purchase orders now; staff said they would work with the clerk to adjust the orders and to document the additional cost in county records. No vote was recorded on changing suppliers or canceling the order during the public session.
