Transcom approves board modification to 2025–2030 TIP; members hear federal obligation report and process changes

The action followed presentations from WFRC staff on the board modification tables and an update on federal obligations for fiscal year 2024. Ben Wilthrich, WFRC staff, summarized the modification package and described individual project changes. “This is where, I guess we could say, the money hits the road,” Wilthrich said, describing how the TIP implements short-range projects and maintenance across modes.
The board modification added and reprioritized funds across multiple projects, including: reallocating $2,000,000 originally programmed for the 5600 West corridor to expand a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling facility to support buses for the corridor; reducing scope on the Stansbury/Tooele Soundwell Trail to construct the northern segment (Village Boulevard to Mill Pond Park) with federal funds of $534,000 and local match to a $668,000 total for the…
