Council approves state and private grants to support Children's Justice Center renovations and relocation

The council recognized roughly $133,000 in state one‑time funding for renovations at the West Jordan location and a new Salt Lake City site. In a separate action the council approved recognizing $26,100 from the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center to assist the North Center’s move into the YWCA building.
Council members moved and seconded the items and approved both measures; supporters said the funds will facilitate site improvements and relocations that support victim services. No additional county general fund contribution was requested for these items on Feb. 11.
The vote reflects the council’s ongoing support for facilities and service continuity for the county’s Child Advocacy and related services.
