The increase, appropriations for the chips outweigh $1,019,630.19.”
Council members followed with comments that the funding would be welcome and used in conjunction with contractors and the public-works department. One council member noted this is “pothole season” and urged patience on a state-owned route in the city, saying Second Street (state route 394) is undergoing a New York State Department of Transportation upgrade that is taking extra time but that the combined efforts and the CHIPS funding should help produce smoother roads.
The amendment increases estimated state highway aid revenue by $1,019,630.19 and raises CHIPS capital outlay appropriations by $500,310.93. The resolution was approved by roll call.
