Council approves minutes, multiple rezoning and public-way items; several ordinances forwarded
Summary

The council unanimously approved receipt and filing of minutes for three special meetings held Dec. 11 (items 1a–1c). Later, councilors approved a block of mayor's items (items 4b–4j) with the emergency clause applied to items 4b–4e.
On land-use matters the council approved rezoning requests listed as items 5b through 5d, including Z-7795 (RS-3 to IL for property north of the northeast corner of North Hill Avenue and Dawson Road), Z-7796 (RM-2 to MX-1-PD35 at the northwest corner of East 13th and South Rockford), and PUD-564D (amendment to add personal vehicle repair and maintenance as permitted uses within Development Area B east of the southeast corner of East Skelly Drive and South Memorial Drive). The council also approved ordinances on second reading that include multiple public-way closures for future development and an ordinance correcting a prior ordinance's legal description and changing a street name (State Farm Boulevard to East 48th Street South). The council voted to forward items 6a–6h (first-reading ordinances) to the next council meeting for action.
