Plan Commission reviews comprehensive plan survey results; routine approvals recorded

The Village of Cross Plains Plan Commission reviewed results of a community survey Oct. 6 as part of the ongoing comprehensive plan update. Planning staff reported the survey closed Sept. 30 and yielded 167 responses.
Staff said 94% of respondents identified as village residents and 6% as non-residents. The largest tenure group reported was residents who have lived in the village 21 years or longer (38.3%); the largest age cohort among respondents was 35 to 44 years (28.7%). Staff also noted 67 additional free-text comments were submitted alongside the survey responses. Planning staff offered to share the full spreadsheet of responses and to provide a comparison with response rates from the previous planning survey.
Several commissioners said the results provide a base for follow-up interviews and in-person engagement but that more time would be useful. One commissioner said she would like to push the next step on the comprehensive plan to the January meeting because of personal scheduling constraints; other commissioners agreed that staff should circulate the raw data and that the commission will continue outreach in the coming months.
At the start of the meeting commissioners approved the minutes from the Sept. 2 meeting by voice vote. The commission also approved the two certified survey maps considered that evening (CSM 13885 for Section 15 and the Section 36 CSM for 4827 Enchanted Valley Road). The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn carried by voice vote.
