Plan Commission approves CSM to transfer 1.32 acres at Enchanted Valley Road

The Village of Cross Plains Plan Commission approved a certified survey map Oct. 6 allowing the owner at 4827 Enchanted Valley Road to acquire 1.32 acres from an adjacent neighbor to enlarge the side/back area near the owner's garage.
Applicant Lindsay Cott described the parcel as a narrow “finger” of land that remained attached to the neighbor’s lot after an earlier subdivision. She told the commission the change would bring the outbuilding and immediate yard wholly onto the owner’s property and that the proposal is intended only to correct what she described as “a very poorly designed outbuilding.”
Cott said the area affected includes sloped terrain and tree lines that serve as natural buffers with neighboring land and identified Richard Esser’s dairy farm near the curve by the property. She said the prior lot configuration appeared to result from a previous owner's financial constraints and not an intended design.
A motion to approve the certified survey map for Section 36 (Town of Barrie) carried without opposition. The applicant was asked to follow any subsequent recording instructions from village staff.
