The East Point Planning Commission on Oct. 16 accepted a written withdrawal from the applicant for case P2025V-001-08, a variance request for property at 906 Cleveland Avenue, and formally closed the public hearing on that item.
Director Smith informed commissioners that the applicant, identified in staff materials as Eban Chanongani, submitted the written withdrawal earlier the same day. Commission procedure required opening the public hearing because the case had been advertised; the hearing was opened and the commission heard neighbors’ concerns before accepting the withdrawal.
Neighbors who spoke, including a commenter identifying herself as Naila and another identifying himself as Jakari Wilkatz, described a boundary dispute and said asphalt work and parking markings installed by the adjacent property had crossed into their parcel. They urged denial until the boundary was rectified; the applicant had already submitted the withdrawal request and the commission voted to accept it.
The withdrawal was accepted by motion and recorded by the commission; no substantive action on the variance occurred at the meeting.
