City staff told the council that multiple new businesses and improvements are progressing at the Town Center and that the city will roll out a branded summer-events calendar.
Staff said Cricket Can — a food-and-beverage operator in the Town Center project — now plans to open the tap room with two or three vendor stalls together and is targeting late July rather than late June. Staff listed vendors with permits in place: a Mediterranean restaurant and an ice-cream vendor; other possible stalls include a pizza vendor and a butcher/barbecue operation, staff said.
Staff also described work on the city’s entertainment-district language and branding. Jan, a recent hire on the city events team, has been working on language updates and program branding, staff said. The city plans a summer concert series beginning in July and running through October; staff are partnering with Midcast Castile and plan other seasonal programming such as holiday events and movie nights.
City staff emphasized that permits and utility work are progressing and that the timing aims to create a strong first impression when venues open. No formal council action was taken; staff said they will continue to coordinate vendors, permits and marketing.
