Wichita Public Schools introduced Corinthian Kelly on Wednesday as the district’s new director of partnerships and belonging.
The superintendent said Kelly brings experience in community transformation and youth development, including roles at the Stand Together Foundation and Wichita State University’s Public Policy and Management Center. Kelly said he hopes to continue the work of his predecessor and emphasized that supporting students ‘‘is something we have to do with students and their families in partnership with this awesome community.’’
The board offered a welcome and Kelly thanked the district leadership and named a former mentor, the late Dr. William Polite, in his remarks. District materials say Kelly will lead implementation of restorative practices and work across departments and community partners to strengthen belonging and family engagement.
Ending: Kelly spoke briefly after the formal introduction and the board welcomed him to the district team.
