Franjo Road construction reaches Work Zone 3; town expects zone completion next month

Contractor Acosta and engineering consultant Stantec reported to the Town Council of Cutler Bay on July 17 that Franjo Road improvements are proceeding and that Work Zones 1 and 2 are complete and open to traffic.
The presentation said crews are currently in Work Zone 3 performing drainage improvements southwest of Caribbean Boulevard and that the project team is maintaining proper maintenance-of-traffic (MOT) measures and site cleanliness. The contractor expects to finish Work Zone 3 in August and then begin Work Zone 4, the update said.
Project staff reported the overall project runs from July 2024 to September 2026 and that the project has recorded three rain days so far. Town staff also noted regular public outreach, including attendance and informal conversations with residents at the town’s July 4 event. Council members responded positively to the update and thanked staff for on‑time progress and site safety.
