The Zoning and Planning Commission approved its consent agenda and the commission’s 2024 annual internal review and report at a regular meeting July 15 at Austin City Hall.
Commissioner David Fouts moved to approve the consent agenda as read; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The consent agenda, as read into the record, included approval of the minutes from July 1, 2025; several rezoning items and postponements; a conditional-use permit for Pflugerville ISD support services parking; and a site-plan extension. Several rezoning and amendment requests were postponed to Aug. 19 at the applicants’ or neighborhood’s request as noted on the record.
The commission then took up the 2024 annual internal review and report, an item sponsored by Chair Hank Smith and Vice Chair Betsy Greenberg. Vice Chair Greenberg had led the drafting work, and the commission voted unanimously to approve the report after a second. "Vice chair Greenberg, you did the yeoman's work on this," Chair Smith said before the vote. The motion to approve the internal review passed by unanimous voice vote.
On the item to appoint a member to the comprehensive plan joint committee, commissioners said there was confusion in the backup materials about vacancies; the item was postponed to a later meeting so staff and the commission can verify vacancy status with the city clerk’s office.
