Daggett County commissioners were told on June 10 that construction work on the county clinic is moving forward after a preconstruction meeting with Hadfield Construction and that the county expects contractor mobilization later this month and a bond closing beforehand.
County officials said the contractor plans to mobilize on the 26th and that the bond closing is scheduled for the 24th. County staff also reported that, after discussion with the bond board, an X‑ray machine originally questioned as “equipment” will be included in the project’s scope as infrastructure.
The new clinic project and financing were discussed during the county commission’s regular meeting. Commissioners and staff said the preconstruction meeting went well and that Hadfield Construction will begin site work following the bond closing. County staff also said they have begun informal discussions about possible uses for the existing clinic building after services move to the new facility.
During the same conversation about bond-funded projects, staff reported that the town of Manila requested and was awarded $275,000 for water and well improvements. Commissioners described the Manila award as a separate grant that benefited the county’s water infrastructure planning.
The commission approved routine meeting minutes and briefly recessed to allow the municipal building authority to meet before returning to the remainder of the agenda.
