New Orleans sales tax hearing ratifies multiple consent judgments, continues several cases to Dec. 17

NEW ORLEANS — At a New Orleans City sales tax hearing on Oct. 29, city staff announced a series of consent judgments and case continuances affecting a range of local businesses, and the hearing body ratified the clerk's report and actions.

City staff asked the hearing to continue a case involving Bootleg Distillation LLC (d/b/a Bootleg Distillation and Porch Jam) to the Dec. 17 docket. "The city would like to continue this matter, to the 12/17 docket to allow the entities to come to a resolution in this matter," Jasmine Bandy, speaking on behalf of the city, said during the hearing.

The hearing record shows one petition was dismissed after payment: Harris Cuisine LLC (d/b/a LILITH) was dismissed after the city reported the business paid the applicable $1,600 fine. "The city would like to dismiss this petition against LILITH as they've paid the applicable $1,600 fine," Bandy said; a motion and second were recorded and the dismissal was entered.

Other items on the docket were reported as consent judgments with specified payment amounts and time frames. Examples recorded in the hearing record include:
